Research proves that helping others creates a sense of overall well being. Studies also show that people who engage in volunteer activities are more likely to feel a deeper connection to organizations they support. Email us at team@sowgoodnow.org to volunteer with us!

A grant is an amount of money donated to a charity so they can continue to help people in need. Grants can be made by people, foundations, Donor Advised Funds and corporations. Our Government also makes grants.

A Giving Fund is also called a Donor Advised Fund. It can be used as a tool to become more organized in making donations to charities.
You can name your Giving Fund after your team'or after someone special. For example: The Cardinal Basketball GiveBack Fund or The James Johnson GiveBack Fund.

Community Partners are groups of people who work together in sharing resources to make the world a better place.
Just like being part of a sports team, you understand that different members have different roles. Not everyone on the team does the same thing or has the same skills. It is the same way in our communities and we all use what we have to help each other win at the game of life!
Just like learning a sport, it takes time and practice to learn about areas for giving back.
Practicing Philanthropy through sports programs keeps it fun and engaging and there are always new players getting involved every year. Below is a video to help you understand your passion.
Every GiveBack gives young athletes the opportunity to identify causes they care about, make philanthropic decisions, and create meaningful impact in their communities.

Since 2015, The Sillerman Center has engaged in studying and working with the field of youth philanthropy. Broadly defined, youth philanthropy is a model of participatory grantmaking that provides young people money, mentorship, and decision-making power to directly fund nonprofit organizations and support their communities. However, youth philanthropy goes beyond grantmaking. The term “philanthropy” means the love of humankind, which includes learning about and practicing acts of kindness; and that is central to youth philanthropy and social justice philanthropy. 1

Sow Good Now partners high school and college sports teams with geographically adjacent, socio-economically diverse youth groups. We choose partners who maintain a community focus and a growth mindsets.

Traditional Philanthropy starts later in life with mature donors writing checks in silos. At Sow Good Now we engage the rising generations through sports and collaborations and jump-start the Philanthropic Learning Curve!
